Inacessible fuse-board in locked cupboard
During an inspection of a rental property it was noted that the old style fuse-board was located within a locked cupboard, within a works yard of the commercial property next door, to which the tenant did not have access. In the event of a fault the tenant could not access the fuse-board outside of normal working hours
Relocation of a
fuse-board
The landlord accepted our advice to relocate the old fuse-board with a new consumer unit within the actual property. A switched fuse was installed within the cupboard to provide isolation and protect the cables used to supply the new board
Installation of a new
fuse-board
A new twin RCD/MCB distribution board was installed; all the wiring was re-routed, inspected, connected and tested to ensure compliance with the 17th edition of the Wiring Regulations BS7671
